"The (Wedding Crashers) actress has signed on to star in 'Confessions of a Shopaholic,' Touchstone's comedy based on the novels by Sophie Kinsella. Jerry Bruckheimer is producing, while P.J. Hogan is on board to direct.

The production is scheduled to start filming in January. "

to think fellow fashion conspirator (Denver) and i were contemplating over who should play everybody's favourite frivolous book series' heroine:

apparently, while Isla is Australian, the producers are... switching in Becky Bloomwood's British nationality for an American one.

sin, sin, sin.

Becky Bloomwood is a British character through and through!

she's like, the mother i never had (other than ANGELINA JOLIE) - i always knew deep down that i was her son that Sophie Kinsella never included...

anyway.

i've been secretly harbouring a wish for the absolutely lovable Anne Hathaway (just caught her in the yummy Princess Diaries 2 with the Special One) to play Becky...

i thought Anne would be perfect for Becky, as Becky isn't exactly that particular about being a size 0, she's fun-loving, a little nonsensical, bloody hilarious, over-imaginative, loyal to her love, impulsive...

see? just like me and Anne!
